Activities by end of 2012

1. Finish major report, analysing all past records to gauge impact. 2. Liaise with all Ludo Groups/Garages/Furniture Marts in Kampala/Wakiso Districts. 3. Partnership moves with all CSOs in catchment area where our resource is found 4. Mobilise and work with Ludo/Snooker/Repair garages/Food vending stalls/ Film kiosks to gauge understanding of HIV and plans for community talks around Violence, abuse, discrimination and Stigma. 5. Fund raise and resource mobilisation. 6. Partner with INTERNATIONAL PARTNERSHIPS FOR MICROBICIDES as a means of providing prevention, care and treatment services for Women and Men in Uganda. 7. Seek out and attach people living with HIV to prophylaxis and ART care systems. 8. Generate and design concepts for development into proposals as a link to Government of Uganda anti-Poverty Drives for all communities. 9. Identify and train 900 participants with skills to improve on their communities, address violence, abuse, discrimination, stigma and development issues. 10. Position MARPS IN UGANDA as an anti-poverty, anti-HIV and anti-Corruption Organisation in Uganda. 11. Engage in WORLD AIDS DAY activities: Launch interventions, conduct community sensitisation drives and engage communities in competitive Ludo Sports under the "Talk-HIV-while-at-Play" (THWAP) Programme that encourages men/young males to attend our self help sessions in bigger numbers. 12. Attend and participate in the Uganda Country Coordinating Mechanism Election meeting. Uganda National AIDS Services Organisation (UNASO) and Reproductive Health Uganda (RHU) are the substantive/Alternate CCM for Local NGOs in Uganda where MARPS IN UGANDA is member. 13. Design plans to link with AIDS Information Center (AIC) and RHU as part of the 5 referral points for MSM/ MARPs health issues. 14. Design training modules to train other organisations. 15. Establish means to work with other organisations outside Uganda.

COMPLIANCE PARADIGM SHIFT

1. Planning Around UNAIDS STRATEGY 2011-2015 2.Planning around Protection 3.Planning around measurement of new and existing action in the areas of eliminating mother-to-child transmission of HIV, providing paediatric treatment, preventing infection among adolescents and young people, and protecting and supporting children affectd by HIV-AIDS-the four Ps. 4.Involving over 11,000 men only clubs (Ludo, Snooker, repair garages,film kiosks, touts and furniture kiosks in educative sessions and talks around violence, abuse, discrimination, stigma, HIV, Human Rights and self sustenance. 5. Post conflict processes and mechanisms 6.HIV among MSM and use of microbicides as a prevention practice. 7.HIV among Transgender 8.Universal access for MSM 9.Universal access for TG 10.Sexual orientation, Violence and AIDS in Africa 11. Seek out PLHIV and attach them to prophylaxis and ART care facilities. 12. Establish conversation spaces on family planning methods. 13. Promote integrated services for HIV/TB/Malaria. 14. Promote comprehensive HIV Initiatives. 15.Engage in research, documentation, record keeping and share information as a means of knowledge building and management.

APPRECIATION: This goes to the friends of MARPS IN UGANDA (FOMIU) who provided: 2 mobile phone units (NOKIA 2233) to be used to send texts for support by our volunteers, a bale of clothes, 500 books, 120 pens, 120 kilos of maize flour and 10 kilos of sugar.THANK YOU SO MUCH. We can work together on the following: By June 2012, we shall; 1. Have provided 70 mothers and Uncles who are providing surrogate TLC to 150 Orphans living with HIV. Some sugar, soap, clothes, bedding, 147 mosquito nets,painted 12 small-3 room houses, provided dry-racks/hanging wires to 72 households where orphans living with HIV reside and given health talks in 12 religious worship centers around Kampala, Luweero and Wakiso. 2. Visited 17 households in Makindye, Kawempe, Nakawa and Lubaga with single mothers. 3. Visited 12 young males and females at their places of work as a means of providing morale support. By December 2012 we shall have been; 1. Supported to host an HIV Conference in Uganda reaching a target of 1,000-1,500 participants in a suburb of Kampala with a very high key affected population group. 2. Supported with logistics to host and receive participants in form of: tents, chairs, banners, caps, soft drinks, Public address systems, movable washrooms, water tanks, ludo-game boards, prizes for best auditions by groups from the disabled, men, women and young people. 3. Supported with office equipment in form of used computers, cables, tables, chairs, boards, carpets, curtains,vehicle, bicycles and kitchen utensils.. please. THANK YOU.
